Bay Trust Radio Description:
Bay Trust Radio is an award-winning, volunteer-led charity radio station broadcasting 24 hours a day across South Cumbria and North Lancashire. Founded in 1977 as Kendal Hospital Radio, the station operates from studios based at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal. Originally established to bring comfort and music to hospital wards, Bay Trust Radio has expanded over the decades to serve multiple NHS hospital sites including Westmorland General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and facilities across the Fylde Coast while also streaming globally to the wider community online.
The station presents an engaging mix of adult contemporary hits, classic pop throwbacks, local news, and specialized interest features. Its schedule includes live presenter-led breakfast and drive-time shows, local interviews, patient request broadcasts, and community updates tailored to the region. Run entirely by passionate volunteers, Bay Trust Radio continues its long-standing tradition of informing, entertaining, and connecting hospital patients, staff, and local residents across the North West.
